Blasts in LA

Although it is not a good time in Japan and I was worried about my family, I had a business trip to LA in late March 2011.
I think the trip was my seventh or eighth time. I'm not interested in visiting major sight seeing spots any more, I wanted to expand my experience in LA.

I arrived in LAX two nights before my work and went to My Baby Jo. They were doing very good and always very nice. Also, it was very good that my friend invited me for lunch. Thanks Kim. The next lunch is on me ;-)

I stayed one night in my favorite town Pasadena. Pasadena has many stores and restaurants and the good thing is I don't have to use a car! I love to drink, you know ;-)

It started to rain the next morning... I have never experienced rain in LA before, but it rained a lot.

I visited a Harley Davidson dealership to buy some parts in the heavy rain...

Then I went to downtown to see Deke Dickerson & Echo Fonics in Redwood Bar.
I met Dollie and this was sooo great since I'm a follower of her blog.
The first band I saw in LA back in 2001 was this band. The last time I saw the band was maybe 2002 or 2003 in Japan. They are great especially their chorus work. It is almost unbelievable that the "rich" sound come out from three musicians.

Of course I worked from Monday to Saturday and the next Monday, but followings are some pictures AFTER the WORK and Sunday.

Yummy Crab.

At a bar close to the office.

Do you believe the name on right?
I was exhausted after Saturday work, so I had to cancel going to San Diego... maybe due to my 15 minute "Janglish" presentation...
Instead, my colleagues took me to the House of the Blues on Saturday night, but it was too late... The last band out of four was playing. $20 was not good.....
On Sunday 27th, there was a concert for Japan by the rockabilly musicians. LilMo the big-hearted man planned this event. $4,200 donation, great!
Unfortunately, there was a schedule conflict with other band's event (I have never seen the band before...), but I decided to join this event.

Deke played with Kim and the Jaguars without any rehearsal.

My flight was 12:40 midnight on Monday, I had a little time for the last dinner.
The last margarita.

My favorite, Rib-eye. Of course, I gained  weight...

I miss LA... but, I will come back soon unless the situation in Japan is not getting worse ;-)

To the friends I met during the trip - Thank you very much!!!
